Rebecca Zehr

BIO

Rebecca Zehr studied cultural anthropology, religious studies and psychology in Munich, specialising in visual anthropology and political ecology. She has worked at various international film festivals in Ecuador and Germany and is involved in participatory media education with children, youth and young adults. Since 2016 she has been studying documentary film directing at the University of Television and Film Munich and works as a director and editor in Munich. Teaching assignments at the HFF Munich in the field of media studies and as a lecturer at the Institute of Social and Cultural Anthropology at the the University of Munich. In 2021 she realised the project RESHAPE together with Sophie Kindermann as a scholarship holder of the media art scholarship of the University of Television and Film Munich. Participation in Berlinale Talents 2023. Since 2023 she is a teacher for documentary film at the HFF Munich.

Rebecca Zehr studierte Kulturanthropologie, Religionswissenschaft und Psychologie in München mit den Schwerpunkten visuelle Anthropologie und politische Ökologie. Mitarbeit bei verschiedenen internationalen Filmfestivals in Ecuador und Deutschland und partizipative Medienvermittlung mit Kindern, Jugendlichen und jungen Erwachsenen. Seit 2016 studiert sie Dokumentarfilmregie an der Hochschule für Fernsehen und Film München und arbeitet als Regisseurin und Editorin in München. Lehraufträge an der HFF München im Bereich Medienwissenschaft und als Dozentin am Institut für Ethnologie, LMU München. 2021 realisiert sie als Stipendiatin des Medienkunststipendiums der Hochschule für Fernsehen und Film München zusammen mit Sophie Kindermann das Projekt VOYAGER III. Teilnahme an Berlinale Talents 2023. Seit 2023 ist sie künstlerische Mitarbeiterin für Dokumentarfilm und Fernsehpublizistik an der HFF München.
